Janet - Janet Kaizer, M.M., received her music degrees from the University of Illinois and Bradley University and has completed course work toward her PhD at Washington University in St. Louis. Her musical background includes classic and jazz piano performance and sacred organ music. She has performed as soloist with orchestras and has performed classical piano and organ concerts in the U.S., Mexico and Europe, and she won the title of "World Champion Old-Time Piano Player" in 1984 and 1985. She currently teaches music at Bradley University and is well known for her keyboard performance and improvisational skills at the First United Methodist church of Peoria where she is organist.


Ed - Edward Kaizer, Ph.D, holds his doctorate in piano performance from Indiana University where he studied with Sidney Foster. He is a professor of music at Bradley University and Director of Keyboard Studies. He also teaches: Music in its Historical Perspective III and IV; Piano Pedagogy; Piano Literature; Music Appreciation; and is the advisor to the Bradley Piano Prep Program and the coordinator of the Bradley University High School Piano Competition. During his tenure at Bradley University, Professor Kaizer has been a very visible and active musician in central Illinois in the classical and jazz genres. He and his wife Janet keep a busy schedule teaching and performing in the U.S. and Europe. Their most recent tour took them to Germany, Switzerl and, Italy and Denmark. They have a weekly program on WCBU (89.9FM)—Bradley's public radio station— "Jazz From the Hilltop." You can read more about their performances at their website.

Ed Jr - Ed Kaizer, Jr. (Left) received his degree in Jazz Performance from Arizona State University, and is an adjunct faculty member at Iowa State University; he is also the course coordinator in charge of curriculum and faculty development for William Penn College and teaches the „Jazz and Society‰ course.  He has played with a number of artists in Arizona, California, Texas, New York, Illinois, and throughout the United States; the artists include: Bobby Durim, Al Gray, and Joe Henderson. As well as being a composer and arranger in the Jazz area, he also maintains a private teaching studio and works in a recording studio. He is currently a consultant/bass player for the John Kaizer Band and Santa Fe Records, along with performing with His own „Ed Kaizer Group,‰ the Ames Jazz Quartet and Dr Ed Kaizer Sr., Piano Department Head at Bradley University


Nick - Nick Kaizer (Center, son of Ed Jr and Lynn Kaizer) is a high school senior. who is involved in sports, student leadership, and fine arts. Nick is an All State Musician playing first chair in the Iowa All State Band, and lead/solo trumpet in the Iowa All State Jazz Band. Nick has been selected for numerous other honor bands including the Iowa State Gold Honor Band. He has attended jazz camps at the University of Nebraska, and Jamey Aebersold Jazz camp in Louisville, Ky. Nick's playing has been described as a developing "Miles Davis sound and style." He has already played with some outstanding jazz artists including John Riley and Rufus Reed. Nick's playing has been described as a "developing Miles Davis sound and style."  Nick currently plays lead and 2nd trumpet in the Iowa State University Jazz Band.


Lynn - Lynn Kaizer is a well-diversified vocalist singing jazz classics with a fresh and new appeal.  She acquired her Bachelor‚s Degree from Simpson College and Master‚s Degree from Arizona State University in Vocal Pedagogy.  Lynn has been singing jazz for the last six years with her own duo and trio along with her husband’s group, The Ed Kaizer Trio.  Lynn has a varied theatrical past with productions ranging from musical theater to opera.  She has also been showcased performing children‚s songs˜related to children‚s stories˜in a jazz style for various clinics and concert forums.  Along with singing and performing on both the east and west coasts, Lynn can be heard on a regular basis in the central Iowa area performing jazz.

Joe - Joseph Kaizer has appeared in solo and chamber recitals across the US and abroad. He has toured throughout Denmark several times including recital performances, a master class at the Royal Conservatory of music in Copenhagen, and two appearances as soloist with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble of Copenhagen for two concerts performing the award winning concerto of Johan De Meij. Mr. Kaizer has also appeared as soloist with the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra, the Northwestern University GSO symphony, Bradley University Chamber Orchestra and the North Shore Chamber Orchestra of Chicago, IL.

Born in Peoria, IL. Mr. Kaizer’s early studies were with the Russian cellist Suren Bagratuni, whom he studied with from high school until the completion of his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois. He continued his studies with Hans Jorgen Jensen at Northwestern University where he completed both his Masters degree as well as his post-graduate degree in performance. Mr. Kaizer is currently finishing his Doctoral studies at the Indiana University School of Music as the assistant of the world-renowned recording artist and cello teacher Janos Starker. While at Indiana University he has also had the opportunity to work with many other celebrated artists including Manahem Pressler, Andre Watts, Lynn Harrell, and Leonard Slatkin.

Mr. Kaizer has held adjunct teaching positions at both Northwestern University and Indiana University. In 2005 he was the professor of cello and chamber music studies at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.

Mr. Kaizer, recently released his debut recording ‘Virtuoso Cello Encores’ on the Eroica Classical Recordings Label along with his pianist Nariaki Sugiura.

Laraine - Laraine Kaizer earned her Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Music Degrees in violin performance from Bradley University, Peoria, IL studying with Marcia Henry (1998); Indiana University in Bloomington, IN studying with Mauricio Fuks (2000); University of Cincinnati, OH studying with Kurt Sassmannshaus (2004) respectively. With all three degrees Laraine has studied violin pedagogy as her secondary concentration. Laraine won first place in the 1999 Matinee Musicale Competition at Butler University in Indianapolis. In 2002-2004 she served as director of the Starling Kids program and was the recipient of the Starling Fellowship and Graduate Assistant Award at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Laraine is currently a violinist in the Las Vegas Philharmonic, free lance ‘strolling’ violinist, Chamber Music Program Coordinator at the Nevada School of the Arts  www.nsamusic.org/ and part-time violin instructor at UNLV music.unlv.edu/home.shtml  in Las Vegas, NV. Laraine's specialty is improvising in a wide variety of styles and creating "arrangements" on the spot for recordings using multiple tracks. Recent projects for producer and musician Michael Krasner music.unlv.edu/home.shtml  include the albums of Try Me Bicycle www.trymebicycle.com/  and Simon Joyner  team-love.com/home/releases/tl-41/ as well as different movie sound tracks including "Here" which recently brought Laraine to Armenia to perform with the "Boxhead Ensemble" at the International Music Festival in Yerevan Armenia.

John - John Kaizer, a Bradley University alum, has had a successful teaching and performing career. He has made eight cds, has appeared on many of the Phoenix television and radio stations, has presented solo concerts, and has participated in concerts with other artists including Chicago and Grover Washington Jr.. He has taught many talented and well known personalities including: Brian Grant (Phoenix Suns), Matt Williams (Az Diamonnbacks), Grant Woods (former Attorney General for the state of Arizona) and recently signed Nashville artists, Dierks Bently and Gracin Stevens.
    As a performer, he combines great technique and artistry modeled after other great guitarists including AL DI Meola, Jimmy Hendricks, and Edy Van Halen.  John is also a n outstanding writer and singer of original songs; he combines his ability to match words and music with an excellent sense of song form and structure resulting in music that is accessible and interesting.
